Sucden Coffee Verified receives recognition from the Global Coffee Platform

Sucden Coffee is proud to announce that its voluntary sustainability
scheme, Sucden Coffee Verified, has been officially recognized by the Global Coffee Platform
(GCP) as equivalent to the Coffee Sustainability Reference Code (Coffee SR Code) under the
second-party assurance category. This recognition underscores Sucden Coffee’s commitment to
advancing sustainable practices within the coffee industry.
The scheme encompasses smallholders, large farms, and groups of farms across five key coffee-
producing countries. In close collaboration with producers, Sucden establishes a consistent
baseline for sustainable coffee production in these regions. Verified volumes are physically
separated from non-confirmed deforestation-free volumes and geolocation data are tracked.
Since its launch, the programme has reached close to 12,000 farmers in five coffee-producing
countries and is based on a robust framework of 11 sustainability criteria and 37 sub-criteria,
covering economic prosperity, social well-being, and environmental responsibility.
