Our commitment to product quality in Russian is such that Sucden has developed advanced production capabilities to complement our agricultural facilities. We have the Dobrinsky sugar mill in the Lipetsk region, the Atmis Sakhar mill in the Penza Region, and the Tbilisky sugar mill in the Krasnodar region.
Sucden’s direct involvement in sugar processing in Russia began in the late 1990s. Our continuous introduction of advanced technologies across the three plants has enabled us to increase the intake of sugar beets from an original capacity of 1,000,000 tonnes to more than 3,300,000 tonnes today. Similarly, the resulting production of sugar has grown from 110,500 tonnes to 480,000 tonnes.
Sustainability is of equal concern to us as efficiency. In addition to sugar, our mills co-produce approximately 120,000 tonnes of molasses each year. We have also pioneered the production of dry pulps and currently produce around 130,000 tonnes of pellets a year.
Sucden’s mills play a significant role in their local economies and employ more than 2,000 people.
